  • Respects client’s rights and maintains confidentiality.
  • Move and reposition clients for postural drainage and other treatments.
  • Perform hand percussion and postural drainage.
  • Assess breath sounds.
  • Document assessments and treatments.
  • Operate respiratory equipment and handle gases safely.
  • Administer intermittent positive pressure breathing treatment, humidification and aerosol therapy, and chest physiotherapy.
  • Clean and care for respiratory equipment.
  • Report and replace malfunctioning equipment.
  • Assist with inservice presentations of the respiratory system.
  • Participate in continuing education to keep skills and knowledge current.
  • The following tasks are also considered essential functions of the position:
    • Lifting unspecified weights, depending on assignment requirements.
    • Bending and stooping to prepare equipment and materials for treating clients or managing the client’s environment.
    • Transferring, turning and positioning clients and assisting clients in walking and moving from place to place.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy from accredited college.
  • Certified by National Board of Respiratory Therapy as a Registered RespiratoryTherapist.
  • Must hold current ACLS and BLS certifications
